Slackware Live CD rocks! Must have!

Hey all,

Attention Mods: ( I put this in general because I figured people wouldn't go to the slackware forum to read this, and it's good info. )

OK just an FYI:

I downloaded Slackware Live last night and burned it to CD. Today I brought it into work and threw it in a 733MHz box with 384MB RAM. Booted off the CD and in like less than 1 minute it was up and to the desktop of KDE 3.1

I surfed around the web a bit and even used RDesktop to connect to some of our Windows Servers here.

I don't know how they did it, but they crammed a crapload of great linux stuff into a 180MB Slackware CD based distro.

It rocks.

Check it out here:

Peace!

Yeah! they actually rock. Between Knopix and the Slackware-Live they are doing a great job. People who are used to Windows they get amazed at how cool this live distro look, and its out of a cd!!!

Does the Slackware-Live cd has the feature to save the user settings to a floppy like Knopix? I haven't played with the Slackware-live in a while.

Cheers
Figa

Yeah, when I first found out about that it seemed kinda like "Ah, that's kinda cool" but then I got it and tried it, it's truly the best I've come across WRT Live CD's.

How can it not be though, I think a toaster based on Slackware would outperform every other in it's class

Cool

Awesome - I am now in Slack Live (KDE), I will have to try the Fluxbox gui as well.

Even running off a cd it flies.

Recommend all try it - I can even use this to show people what Linux can do.

This is by far the best "On-CD" Linux distro I've seen thus far.

I will be taking this one with me...

It is really fast! Wow!
