This is a truly great community to have and I've had lots and lots of help and entertainment here. I still intend to use my Linux PC so I'm not leaving, but I'm making a move to the mac world because that's been my aim for a long time.
Well, now the first part of my aim has been fulfilled since I got an old G3 PowerPC. It's over 10 years old and it still works perfectly and I can use it effectively for work. Quite a difference comparing to PC world, eh? That's exactly why I've been dreaming of making the move. I'm collecting money to buy a new PowerMac G5, but it isn't possible to get one until next autumn, so I'm with my G3 for now.
Anyways, I'm beside the point here. What I meant to ask was is there a similar kind of community/forum for mac users? It would be great if there would be a place where I can turn to in my mac issues like I've been able in here.
long time ago i picked up this mac centris 650 , refurbished it and use it for a few weeks , i think the OS version is something like 7 or earlier , that was the time that i like mac machines , their hardwares , cd-trays and their weird power supply ,if i'm not wrong (correct me if i'm wong) i can still remember with that mac centris 650 it was the first time i experience ejecting floppies by using a mouse , that is why when i first learn how to use to linux i got no trouble visualising mounting and umounting disk partitions or floppies . i also thinking of collecting those wooden box type apple machines which i saw on the net ...........
do you know any place where i can download free or shareware mac app which can run on os7(or ? 6 ?) ............
to put it simply, you really don't have much problems with new macs.
or atleast I didn't
theres only 1 distro
theres a pretty gui for almost anything
there is a standard way of installing stuff
it only runs on compatible hardware
that takes care of most problems about computers

You're right, but I sometimes might need help in some advanced stuff that I can't find instructions to or I'm trying to find a piece of software that I'd need but can't really find.
