shoutcast problems...

well, i was listening and eveything was fine.
then i closed xmms, ran one other app, then open xmms again.
thatsa all i did. and now it doesnt work.
any ideas? i didnt change anything...

when i click listen now, it waits a sec, xmms pops up, then asks me what file(s) to load.
i dont wanna load any files, i just wanna listen to the stream!

i did set firefox to automatically open this filetype (.pls) wiht xmms, but i dont think thats the problem.

if it is by some chance though, how do i stop it from automatically using xmms to open .pls?

thanks alot

running firefox.
i was running xmms and it worked fine.
i closed xmms
then launched (dont tell anyone, a filesharing program. iwasnt trying to d/l music, though.)
i closed that program,
re-launched firefox
clicked on listen now link form shoutcast.com
xmms automatically launches, but asks what file to open, instead of reading stream from web.

thats all i did.

well it looks to me like xmms needs to be pointed to the stream, it seems the default is to open a file on the drive, not look for Internet streams.

Either the KDE Auto suspend system is set to too long of a time-out period (try 1 second) or another program has a lock file on the device.

Code:
 /sbin/fuser -v /dev/dsp
will display which program uses the sound card.
