running xemacs in bash(alternative to vi)??
 
hi!!newbie here.i've just installed cygwin and xemacs(both from installer packages following default options).
when i type xemacs in bash console (instead of vi)and the filename i want to open ,it says command not found.
i included the /cygwin/bin directory to my system PATH but still the errror persists.
plz help.

cygwin is a port of unix programs and utilities to Windows. Will not work on a linux installation.

i wanted to know if xemacs (or even the older emacs )can run in cygwin from the command line(just like vi),coz i dont like vi's interface ,but i'd still like to use an editor that runs in the command line rather tan a gui based editor.

I don't think of cygwin as Linux, hence the move to General ...

That said: *IF* you installed it it should be in your path and should
run ...
