RFC1149 - Std. for Transmission of IP Datagrams on Avian Carriers

Just reading my "Linux Administration Handbook" and it had a listing of humorous RFCs.

RFC1149 is A Standard for the Transmission of IP Datagrams on Avian Carriers.

Full RFC here - http://www.faqs.org/rfcs/rfc1149.html

The thing is, someone actually implemented this!

The CPIP - Carrier Pigeon Internet Protocol

They even have a link so you can download the software being used - Pigeonware 0.15

:D :p

This can't be serious? ROFL!

Huge ping... On the other hand, its pretty reliable, unless a pigeon gets shot by accident or something.

9 packets transmitted, 4 packets received, 55% packet loss

What do you think happened to the 5 pigeons? MIA?
