I recived an invite from linuxmagazine for a webinar by Redhat, IBM and AMD. When I click on test your system. This is what I get...Operating System Failed We have detected that your operating system does not meet the optimal webcast specifications for listening to and/or viewing webcasts. We recommend the following operating systems:
Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Mac OS X.
Please note that users with older versions of Windows (Windows NT 4.0, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows 95), Mac, Linux, and Unix operating systems may or may not experience difficulties listening to and/or viewing webcasts. Please contact your network administrator regarding any operating system upgrades.

Probably not, you fail to tell what system you are using by the way, or is it mandriva ?

redhat webinar

Sorry about no posting what OS I'm using. It's currently Mandriva 2006. I did E-mail Redhat and linuxmag about this problem and included my OS. It just blew me away that they would have it set up like that. Very strange.

Well, I sure Redhat and linuxmag didn't setup it that way, they are just using a specialized service provider for the webinar, and probably weren't careful enough when selecting it.

I think the provider, I guess it is event.on24, just wan't to avoid support issues with linux by limiting it to the mainstream O/S, but if you read closer, you'll see they do not tell it won't work with another O/S (quoting their site: you may experience difficulty in viewing and/or listening to the event).

The required components are Firefox and Real-Player 10, which are both available for Linux.
