The Arch Wiki is an excellent resource and I use it frequently. Nevertheless, it is oriented towards Arch.

TLDP is oriented towards Linux in general. I think it deserves preservation, revitalization, and growth.

Just my two cents.

As someone said it is already on github and this is the description there.

Sphinx and reStructuredText is what will be used for the linux kernel docs.

That is the way to go. The LDP requires fresher content too.
