I have always wondered how many female computer geeks there are out there. I rarely meet any, and am wondering if this is just because of the area I live in, or what(although that doesn't make sense because I live about 45 min from microsoft). So here is a poll to find the ratio of male to female.
Male here.. live in holland. but i know 34 female computer geeks.. unfortunatly they are not a member of this forum. So there are female computer geeks.
(Grinning) Not only am I a female geek, I am an old female geek.......hmmmm am I a dying breed??? Hey, a new category....An old <47ish> female, southern belle geek.......yes, and now that the younguns are grown, I am in college, majoring in computer science, and a Crimson Scholor too. Never knew I had it in me.
I am a female user and Linux made my life easy. With Windows I was always upset because there was always one problem at least every day with that kind of system...
i think in my enitre cs graduating class we had 4 out of about 300 that were females. You guys ever see the girls of gaming?? Toms also did an article about this - lost the link though.
I stopped looking for the female geeks - there don't appear to be any in my area. spent my entire school career in all-male classes, all hope is lost =P despair! *cough*
Well there are female geeks. they are just using better camouflage then us male geeks.
