Ratio of male to female comp. geeks

I have always wondered how many female computer geeks there are out there. I rarely meet any, and am wondering if this is just because of the area I live in, or what(although that doesn't make sense because I live about 45 min from microsoft). So here is a poll to find the ratio of male to female.

A similar poll was posted on the Ubuntu Forums, and women turned out to be 4.28% of the users who answered the poll.

Hmmm, maybe we could start a dating sub-forum... LQ-Dating... NOT...

does knowing the 9:1 male to female ratio really matter...

I posted a thread similar to this thought obviously I didn't search well enough before doing it.

The number of girl comp geeks I know is something like 6 though I'm personally interested in ratio just to see how things are changing in general.

I stopped looking for the female geeks - there don't appear to be any in my area. spent my entire school career in all-male classes, all hope is lost =P despair! *cough*
Well there are female geeks. they are just using better camouflage then us male geeks.

well 3 or 4 of the females interested I do know look too pretty to be geeks

seriously I think the general attitude of people has changed because computers are so much apart of out lives.

in conclusion I think it's now cool to be a "geek"... well the animated variety with gsoh anyway
