Talking Problems with Putty

HI,
My college has a redhat linux server which hosts an Oracle database. well we students use putty to access the server and there is no problem accessing the server the problem is we keep getting logged out after like 60 minutes of inactivity on the server. i think it has something to do with the SSH but i dont know how to configure the server to allow us to stay logged on without any activity...
i know its a security feature and all just i want to disable it and i dont know how.
our college system admin doesnt really kow linux and i mostly administrate the server.
ne help would be "helpfull lol" thnks in advance.

Guten Tag
This problem may be your routing device or managed switch. Some routers (usually Cisco) have a builtin timeout feature. You may also need to check the /etc/ssh/ssh_config file on the server.

Try setting up Putty to use KeepAlive ...

Would cover dial-up as well ... basically
anything you don't want to time-out :)

Cheers,
Tink
