Problems detecting Windows NT partition in gparted, cfdisk

For some reason, both gparted and cfdisk won't detect the Windows NT partition.
I have absolutely no idea why
Can someone please help me?
thanks,
zach

What's Windows NT????.....;)
seriously, that is some fossil. I guess it does not use NTFS filessystem, which Linux tools WILL see. You might try QTParted.

If you do fdisk -l, what does it say is in the place where you think NT should be? e.g. Does it see empty space?

Off-topic: I could never muster enough of a death wish to deal with NT--Win 2K is bad enough.
YMMV

You want to delete NT?

The Linux installer should be able to delete all existing partitions and make new. If not, you could always wipe the drive with something like DBAN. Normally, this would be on a floppy, but I think it (or similar) is on something like the Ultimate Boot CD

Ok, NT should be ntfs. If it's not being detected then you may have a bad drive.
