Good Day and the blessings of the season to you. I have two odd problems the first is Lexmark. When you install their printer software it installs a server that locked out all of your regular installed printers if you try to delete it or stop it from running. This happens under winblow$ XP-Pro and SuSE Linux 10-10.2 ( I haven't tried 11 yet.) Does anyone know a way around this short of a total wipe and reload?
BTW, I am an intermediate Linux user working on my LPI cert. Printers I normally don't have a problem with but it will be a cold day in Hela's kingdom before I use a Lexmark product again this life.
I am stuck with a dial up connection and would appreciate feedback on internet accelerators, Pro & Con please.

Absolutely none but their embedded spyware that took me hours to find and create an effective firewall rule to block it sending data back to Lexmark. I was at a friends and had to print out a manual for him ( no usb) and I had to load his drivers to print it. I wish I'd used Knoppix and Cups instead but I wasn't thinking and was in a hurry to be on the road before dark.
Since I do not have nor want, for that matter, a Lexmark printer. I guess it is time to wipe and reboot since no one seems to know a way of removing it without making it impossible to load any printer. It does block and remove all windows printer drivers and prevents the loading of any other printer except lexXXXXX printers if deleted. The only way to get your printers back is to undelete it, so far and Lexmark ( Gerrr ) will not give me the time of day.
