I have the same processor and use fluxbox not KDE. As you can imagine, it's faster than the bat out of hell

It is very fast, its my gaming box

4 gigs of ram
hd 4870
asus p5q deluxe
and q9300

I use it just for web browsing and little scripting / compiling (vector)
and gaming (vista 64bit). So no number crunching, except games.

This is mine. I've been using Arch for the uptime seen in the images. The pics are rather large since I use 2 monitors, just fair warning.

With windows open
