That is actually a pretty good idea Lordandmaker. I've been spending so much time playing games lately which is not even fun. Perhaps if I had to reboot my PC to play them, I would play a lot less. I wanna quit games, seriously. They take a lot of time, they cost a lot of money (not only games, but also hardware upgrades) and I am much less productive (and even dare to say... social) lately. Have not worked in my free time projects for quite a bit now....
hmmmm... Linux == less games == more productive? Possibly
hmm it seems that the licence for that windows theame is a lot more restrictive then the GPL.

its a very nice theam but a shame about the licence, somone shoudl look into how much GPLed stuf tehy use and write them a little reminder...
3. Yip, it is personal opinion or preference. Though I dont understand why you would get upset.
But I seem to remember you getting upset in a very similar fashion when other people said something even remotely critical about you/your screenshots.
Remember that time you had several distros listed in your "distro" blurb that shows at the side of each post? I pointed out that you're only meant to list the distro you actually use, and then you went off the hook and said "HEY NEXT TIME I WANT YOUR OPINION I'LL ASK". Heh heh heh heh.
As for why MegarmanX got upset, just look at the post you wrote that he was responding to.
Your wording makes you look angry, and you practically command him to take the tux off his start menu. Now, how would you feel if you posted one of you usual screenshots and I said this:
"if there's one thing I hate it's people posting windows screenshots on a linux forum. and take those slags off your desktop"
@PatrickMay16: I appreciated your reply to coolb. It has been a while since peoples actually stood by my side here, lol.
@dasy2k1 & @easuter:
I think it is a good idea to write them a reminder if they are in fact repacking GPL art. But remember that a lot of peoples do that as well.
Cedega for example, uses basically a modified version of wine and worse: They actually make a quick buck out of it. They also try to make as difficult as possible to compile their CVS files and they literally fight to stop distributions like gentoo and debian to do not add Cedega to their repositories (by that I meant someone compiles the CVS-Cedega and add to the repository. Not a binary made by Cedega).
I think things like this are far more concerning than CrystalXP, IMHO. Projects like Cedega (which I liked on the past) can really hurt Open source projects and in the long run, Linux is also affected. For example, with more peoples using cedega, less companies are going to care about making a linux port of their games and the only way to play games (more often than not, not 100% as it should) will be by using the non-free Cedega.
Again, I am all for fighting for what is right, but if we have to take on things hurting our community, we have to start with the real "evil" ones...

Cedega can't really be classified in the same way, since its core components are based on Wine when it was still licensed under the X11 license (so using the code in proprietary software was legal).
Cedega does of course still need improvements that the Wine team come up with (and are now under GPL), so there is a CVS repository where you can get and build a branch of Cedega that is open.
Back to the CrystalXP thing, I'm simply going to send them a heads-up and not a threatening message so they have a chance to "make good" and either correct their EULA or release the GPL'd parts.
If they don't, then the GPL Compliance Lab probably won't be so kind...

You would get angry about it, wouldn't you.
ummm... I dont feel like reading all that what ever though.
Isn't this thread supposed to post pictures of how our Desktops looks like? Why are you posting what games you are playing :S
Ahem,.er., Mega a little correction, doesn't it say 'Post a link to your screenshot' and i'm sure you know 'the screenshot', whatever it may be, if it said 'a desktop screenshot', well then your opinion would weigh in court
i'd post my desktop if i could figure out how to use transparency with tinting/shading again.. either aterm, fbpager or xchat or anyother application can use it and im going MAD becourse there is no help to find anywhere :S
Just finished installing FC6 on my laptop. I was wondering is there a tutorial i could look at for changing my login theme? I went to http://www.kde-look.org for the theme change under KDM menu. Right when I download
