Originally posted by zLinuxz hmm, I have a friend that has a background of the Earth, which actually spins a little bit every 5 minutes. Anyone heard of that?? It's just one background, but every 5 minutes it spins!!!
It is xearth http://linux.tucows.com/x11html/preview/10206.html
I had some trouble compiling it a couple of month ago, but later when I read through INSTALL files I found what I needed to change in Makefile (the libs paths had to be added) I was able to compile it, it takes some resources off your system, so I am not using it anymore, but it was nice anyway
Also check wmglobe and xglobe. They can be easily located through http://www.google.com/linux
Hey, I think G2 is pretty cool. But you obviously need to pimp it up if you want it to look sleek,
most defaults by kde or gnome look like MasterC said, kinder garden desktops, heheh.

You are welcome
If you need assistance compiling the *globes you know where to ask , I believe there are RPM's available for xglobe and wmglobe, as far as xearth is going it was designed with Solaris in mind, and it was ported to mandrake - you can get mandy's RPM's; OTOH, source packages are a little confusing, you have to actually get your hands wet editing Makfiles, but it is fun anyway. As far as kindergarden desktop going, well, I am no fan of either Gnome or KDE, I like simplicity and configurability (is there such a word???)
Druaga, in your screenshot in the lower-left corner, it says "afternoon". How did you get that to do that? And what is it, I am thinking it's the clock applet gone crazy, but I really don't know. That's pretty cool though
hehe, that would be the lower right corner bro, , don't let that Vodka get to ya!,
however, yes, it's really funny and cool. Funny cuz like.."what time is it?, uhhh, well I just ate lunch so I think it's the afternoon", hehe, cool because I've never seen it before,
