popups


Can anyone Help! We got a new (used) computer and We're getting prono popups that you can't exit out of all the time. Even when we're in a microsoft word document. (We have a cable modem) How do I stop them. I downloaded popup stopper but it's still coming through.

Though you are definitely in the wrong forum (don't let it happen again) but first clear your cache and temp files. (I'm assuming your in Windows since Linux doesn't usually have this problem). Then delete all your cookies as well.

Go to google, search for a program called adaware and download it. Run it and let it detect all the misc files/programs that might be in your system that don't belong. Remove them. It should fix your problem.

And to prevent future pop-ups from porn sites, stop going to porn sites.

Format and reinstall.
If your getting pop ups in Word then there is something really wrong and i wouldnt trust your comp no matter what software you run to clean it.
Get a virus scanner, firewall and dont install software from porn sites ever again :-p
