Please recommend a cheap email hosting with a good web interface

Hi Everyone.

I am looking for a cheap email hosting with a decent web interface. I would like to use my own domain and it will only be for my own use. By cheap I mean between 15-25 euros a year)

Any ideas welcome

Sadly, google are great for this really. I'd like to say otherwise, but it's free and it's nearly full gmail.

A wise man. More people should be thinking that way.

Paying for email hosting does not guarantees your information will not be looked at. To accomplish real business privacy you either use encryption or host your own mail servers.

@NaCo

I know that privacy is not guaranteed in fact probably most of the people I email are using hotmail gmail or yahoo and any emails I send them or they send me will be harvested.

I guess its kind of a principles thing as well as the fact that I will use my own domain.

I don't understand why you bothered to post this question here. Any email hosting service has the ability to harvest your emails. What you want is to purchase your own server and host your own email server. That is the only way to ensure that you will not have your hosting service harvest your emails.

Google Apps does allow you to use your own domain name in your email. You can have yourname@yourdomain.com with Google Apps.

In this case you'll want your own email server. You could even use your current machine for that, but electricity probably will cost you much more than 15..20 euros per year.

@AuroraCA and ErV

I know that if I am hosting my email on a third party server they have the "Ability" to read/harvest my emails or any data in them unless its all encrypted.

The EULA of gmail and probably all the others gives them the "RIGHT" to harvest my information. I will be happy if its illegal for my hosting to look at my email.

to the OP.

You should try web hosting sites in countries where the euro:hostcurrency rate will be in your range. But for this level - of cost - be aware that you will get next to no privacy and compulsory ads.

End

I have the same problems with google. I don't trust them. I have bought a domain name, and I have a static IP. I plan to set up my own web/email server. I had done this once before and I got h4x0r3d. If you decide to go the email server rout make sure you read up on sendmail and security.

Hope this helps!

The other thing I am thinking of is if there is someway to setup a pop3 frontend in my webhosting.

I currently have a webhosting that costs 25 euros a year and has email and pop access.

Maybe I could setup some sort of a nice webapp that allowed me to view my email though a nice interface. Does anyone know of anything like this?
