Phone extension

Is 20 m too long for a phone extension ? Would the phone quality decline ?

Because we need to use 20 m of cable to make it reach and the shop said it would cause a drop in quality.

If you're using DSL then it will cause enough resistance to keep the modem from synching. As for analog service, this should be unaffected.
