Pentium 3 733 mhz vs. Celeron 850 mhz

Iam just wondering if its worth changing the cpu from the P3. Iam aware of that the cache size is smaller on the Celeron. But then again its a difference of 127 mhz. So iam wondering if i will notice any change in performance.

I doubt you would tell any increase in performance. Can you overclock the P3?

Well the problem is that i cant do that from the bios. I cant do that anywhere.

You -might- notice a small increase, if you're just doing desktop stuff; web, word processing ...

But if you're doing any gaming or graphics, you'll probably actually see a decrease in performance.

I say stick with your P3.

thanks for the help.

A Pentium 350 seemed to be snappier to me than a Celeron 500.
My belief is that the cache (or disabled cache) does make a difference.
