Partitioning scheme for 2 booting...

Hi

So, I have this brand new 1TB hdd which i plan to install in my lappy, as soon as SL 6 pops out...

I want to install SL6 x86_64 for work, and <<Back|track 4 for "fun" ... LULLZZ ... :D

anyway, considering this, i am planning to allocate 50 Gb for SL6, 10 Gb for Bt, 1 Gb for swap and the rest for /home,

I think there's no need to have some separate /boot partition, is it..?

BRGDS

Alex

don't know what SL6 means , anyways , with using ext3 or ext4 or a supported filessystem it shouldnt need to have separate /boot

/boot is for when using like unsupported fs like LVM2

Hi :)

Thx for yr reply :)

SL6 is one of the FOSS clones of RHEL6... :

CentOS 6

Scientific Linux 6

oooo ... yea... how can they be clones if RHEL is a distro that you have to pay for.. isn't it closed source or what.
.

Nop...

One does not pay for the appz... or the code... one pays for the support... RHEL has support while CENTOS/SL does not, but RHEL is OSS also...
