Opening a link in the same tab in Firefox

There is an anamoly in Firefox, where I can open links in new tabs or windows if I want, but certain links in websites do that already (open in a new window).

What I want to know is how I can force a webpage to open in the same tab/window even when the link originally opens when left clicked in a new window using the target keyword in HTML.

Install the Greasemonkey extension, and insert the "killblank" script. It'll remove all "open in new window" links from a web page, so everything will open in the current tab unless you deliberately open a new window/tab.

I always open the pesky buggers in a new tab, mainly because I'm a tab fiend.

Right Click -> Open in New Tab

I like the script idea though, I'll try to check that out when I get time. My firefox install is so bone-stock its embarassing.

Scratch my first post; I second the Greasemonkey route: http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/
