Not only did I beat it...but I also broke the million-point barrier!

AND....I beat my previous high score by half a million points....even having the handicap of a game that cheats me out of consecutive free balls!!!

I think the point lupusarcanus is trying to make is that the title almost sounds like you're about ready to commit suicide or something...TBH, that's roughly the interpretation I had at first, too. Actually, I was thinking it would be another thread along the lines of DJ Shaji's "She's getting engaged", which did involve that kind of stuff.

No...it's more along the lines of exaggerating- "Now I can die, because I accomplished everything I ever wanted to do". Used to be a common expression- but then again, I'm living in the past.

The phrase works very weell when someone tells you something that they think will be climatic or impress you. Just casually say "Now I can die" and the sarcasm will kill them!

So no worries....ol' Sumguy isn't going to close the garage door and put his lips around the exhaust pipe...... (Although, now that I got such a high score, I'll likely never be able to beat it again and life will lose all meaning! ;) )

This is the internet; tone is usually very difficult to express exactly. ;)

I, too, can die at any time -- but I don't want to!
