New Microsoft Ads

Microsoft is making an agressive move, they are comming out with the truth. Their new advertising slogan is "Join Microsoft and fuck your sister, it's cool". Sadly I can see a lot of Americans buying into this.

I really don't think there is any 'buying into' for the general population. Most people don't even know what an Operating System is. All they care about is the little e icon on there desk that they use to check there e-mail and once in a while they write a document.

Microsoft is where they are because they are more user-friendly for the AVERAGE computer user. Linux is where it is because its more user-friendly for the POWER computer user.</my_two_cents>

I tend to disagree about being user friendly...especially where windows is headed. My 3 roommates...neither of them to be considered a "power user" use my gentoo box frequently and have no problems. They click the little world icon to get to the web, and click games to play games. I'm actually installing lniux for two of my friends, as well as teaching them the basics (mounting disks, root access, etc.) because they don't like the direction of microsoft and palladium. If people are given options and have a little hand holding, thier "fears" of a "power operating systems" go away.

I agree, that whole "linux isn't user-friendly" bit isn't COMPLETELY true...

Sure when you are administering a system, installing programs and such, you can run into complexity in commands and problems...but the same is true with Windows.

In terms of useage (ie: inside a WM like Gnome or KDE and doing day to day stuff) its just as useable as windows and just as easy...

Learned that from observing many many people use my own systems...

I frequently read in news papers how user unfriendly linux is. And I must say at some things linux is indeed more difficult than windows. But having said that, if you just use linux and you don't actually have to do any mentaining your self ( for example if you are using it at work and there is a system admin), why would linux be any more difficult then windows?

I called up Microsoft leading on that I had some secret information that would 'bring down Linux' but that if they wanted this knowledge than Bill Gates would have to put his head between his legs and kiss his own ass. Well I was surprised by their response. After much deliberation between the top executives at Microsoft, Bill Gates agreed to kiss his own ass on national television.

Obviously since there is no way in hell to 'bring down Linux' I had to explain that I was just joking around, but the executives at Microsoft didn't get this information in time and they had all agreed to kiss their own asses in support of Bill Gates. Infact this is all after the fact, they actually made a video and now I'm not sure what to tell them, except maybe they should stick their heads up each others asses.

Which part?

'Cuz quite frankly, I am offended that you would suggest I would join Microsoft!
