Need math refresher course
I got up to Calculus in High School, its been a long time, and have forgotten limits, derivatives, integrals.
I need a full course from Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and AP Calculus. I also need to study graph theory, advanced trig, am/fm modulation, fast fourier transform. Basically I need to learn all the math required for general computer algorithms, analog/digital communication, and vector/raster graphics. Its a large order, finite state machines, language theory, pattern matching, network protocols and Digital Signal Processing (DSP). I've read a lot of books but still haven't done anything practical, my primary obstacle is a lack of math fundamentals. My ultimate goal is to develop a compiler with support libraries for embedded systems with a focus on real time DSP, to support communication and graphics. Also suggestions on tools I could use such as Computer Algebra Systems (CAS), SPICE (and other simulation tools), emulators, and C/C++ tool chains. I haven't a clue how to use these and how they could serve me. But I know they could be very useful, especially if they could help as visual aids for complex problems. Thanks so much for your time and effort, your contribution is very much appreciated. :jawa: |
Do it with style, and read:
G H Hardy: "A Course of Pure Mathematics" http://www.amazon.com/Course-Mathema.../dp/0521092272 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Cours...re_Mathematics You can also find it for free in the internet, for instance: http://www.archive.org/details/coursepuremath00hardrich |
Just study well and everything will go well!
