These kinds of horror stories scare me, but I don't want to get rid of my Gmail and Yahoo Mail accounts. I just back up all of my important email messages and contacts and hope for the best.

Anyway, I've used Gmail and Yahoo Mail for several years (is there any way of finding out how old these accounts are?), but have never lost anything. Knock on wood.

I haven't tried either of these suggestions, but:

Google
Yahoo!

Good luck!

I agree. The GMX email service is excellent.

I use gmail for receiving notifications from websites I register in and general junk. Otherwise I use zoho mail with my own domain. Ultimately I download all my mail (whether with Gmail, yahoo or own domain mail) with POP so that I am not tied to a single mail provider (or even mail ID) and I can shift my provider while still having the previous mail in my hard disk (with backup).

Free email with domain, or host your own

There a several domain registers out there that give you free email when you buy or transfer a domain to there service, some charge a modest fee for email. Sites like GoDaddy, Rackspace, BlueHost, etc. have pretty decent service with spam features, and others. Plus you get a lot of control. If you are savvy enough, you can get hosting and setup your own email environment, and use something like SquirrelMail, MailPile, or something similar if you need a webmail client interface.

1. www.msn.com / outlook.com it is hotmail. It is powered by microsoft, so it is probably the best.

2. yahoo.com it is being never hacked, and your password will be stored secretly always.

3. sdf.lonestar.org it is ultra secured, no one can see your data at all.

4. https://www.aim.com it is ultra high-tech, you have a mail browser with tons of settings

5. my mail

email.about.com/od/freeemailreviews/tp/free_email.htm

Alternatively you may use Pigeons, it is probably faster, secured and the FBI wont s**t on you.

Enjoy
