My email from one person is deleted to trash automatically in Thunderbird

My email from one person only is deleted to trash automatically.
I being Mint15Mate linux user using gmail to receive mail and Thunderbird for pop access to it using 3 separate email accounts. I email a friend who is using Windows xp and outlookexpress on 10 yo laptop and Win 8 and Outlook on new laptop reports back to me that usually only one account is allowed through most of the time and is mostly put in his trash. Occasionally the others let mail through and they wind up in his trash also. several times he's reported that they all work at various times. He says he has no settings applied to do filter my messages.
[I have some wonder if he's truthful or knowledgeable enough to know]
I was able to receive his emails in inbox on the one account for a good while which worked the best for him but that changed to they were being deleted to my trash similar to what was happening to him. I had tried filtering these accounts at one time to delete them to trash but removed the filters... I had filters in Thunderbird and gmail but they have been removed. I don't even know what to ask other than is it corruption or cracking that has messed things up and how to straighten out?
He's using Hughesnet and AOL included & maybe had some MSN in there too along with multiple 'ill' maintained anti malware programs [yaknow typical use it till it congests to death]. I was using Centurylink DSL and switched to Optimum Cable and same happened with both.
Thanx for any help %:)SW

Mail is usually dropped at the server end and not deleted by the recipient (Your computer.) You could try logging to gmail or what ever accounts you have and inspect the server setting that may be triggering the spam detection. Usually it's wording set's off alarms and the all three mail servers look to be responding in the same manner.

Wording isn't used too much by the anti-spam filters any more. Prior deletion/marking of email as spam (like by poorly maintained anti-malware) is what marks a sender as a spammer. It does make for a bit of a circular problem. AOL and Comcast are kind of hard-nosed in their anti-spam filtering. Given the market of Hughesnet, I would not be surprised if it is too.

Ray's suggestion about checking within the settings of your mail servers is really good. The clients have already been told the emails are junk. There may be a bit information in the email headers too.

First of all I need to try to clear matters; I use gmail and run it through Thunderbird. Gmail had filters set as did Thunderbird. I removed the filters and went through gmail and Thunderbird settings and hopefully cleaned them up appropriately. The deleted/moved to trash email was not marked junk. He, the recipient, was reporting mail bypassing his inbox and found in trash of Outlook Express. Sometimes he reports this varied
as he would occasionally get them in his in box. It seemed that this happened when I modified my filters. At one point I found his emails had gotten somewhere funny on my machine appearing to be some kind of a corruption[but I can't remember details about that]. Is it possible that mt TBird got cracked with something from his email system? I'm running latest version of LinuxMintMate and updates are always current.
The other fellow I'm sure has poorly maintained security as in AV MalWare. I've done work on his computer as a friend and it is a windoze disaster needing a clean reinstall and he might be having hardware trouble too... However he just got a new win8 laptop and it is having the same problems. All I think that it could be is either something to do with hughesnet/AOL as he tells me that hughes is using AOhell or his XP version of MSN is detecting Linux and munkywrenching thangz. He's pretty computer clueless and some of it might be in his settings.
I have no settings in gmail or Thunderbird to cause his email to go to trash yet they have been doing that on my machine too. I removed all of my filters in case there was a cross over effect from them. Perhaps could it be server contamination? well best served not to beat it to death. I's always suspicious that M$ is dropping these little turds in the path of Linii users to frustrate them to come back and discourage Wintards from switching. I'm lost for what it iz???

I went looking for programs in repository which might help this situation and ran across gnome-gmail 1.8.2-1. I can't seem to find whether it might effect email sent to trash. Guess I'll try it and see. Hope it doesn't screw up TBird setup....???
