One of the interesting parts is apart from their $613 million fine; Quote:

intersting. im hoping that is a typo, as windows will run just fine without media player, but runs like crap without IE.
|
Funny how losing 613 million would have no impact on the company as well.. that's chump change to them. ;)
|
people want to claim "their" IP?!??!?, umm last time i checked almost everything M$ has is because it bought it, or its a piece of crud (look at explorer, i heard they made it for a web browser, but it didn't work so well, so now its there file manager!!??!)
id say, let them claim M$'s IP! (if they have some), after all, if they actually did make it, it cant be all they good (look at explorer again :) ) |
I might have said this before, but this whole story needs to be made a movie -seeing as how every new idea is a remake so they need something new
|
Oh wow, 613 million. Isn't that the amount of money billy boy is spending on his lunch every day?

I see that is says that Microsoft must "submit technical information to rival makers of computer servers within 120 days"
Does that mean that the people over at slackware will be getting an email full of MS source code in the next four months? :) Because that would be pretty cool. |
Who in their right mind would -want- MS source code... (And I don't think they are referring to any kind of programming information at all in that quote)

ah, but maybe the source will be available to the mplayer people, that way they (or someone) can make open sourced fully compatible windows meda formats for linux (i hate binaries!)
