Moved Windows XP partition to new drive - won't boot

I've got an XP program that will not install on VirtualBox, so I have to keep an actual XP install for the rare times I need to use it. Originally, that was on its own 80GB disk, but I had to swap that out for a new 3TB drive. I copied the partition using "dd", and then copied it to an 80GB partition on the new drive. I set the boot flag. Both the new and old partitions are NTFS. When I try to boot XP, I get the following messages.
Code:

error no such device: <lists the correct guid>
error no such partition
Press any key to continue ...

The one thing I see that's probably the problem is that the old partition table was "msdos" type, while the new drive's partition table is type "gpt". Help.

No chance with gpt.

I was afraid of that. Oh well, I can always swap the old drive back into the laptop.

Thanks!

Is it possible to import the iso that I made of the XP drive into VirtualBox? The problem with installing that program to VBox is the bad sectors on the DVD for copy protection. There shouldn't be an issue actually running it in VBox if I can somehow import that iso. (Famous last words)
