That's not accurate at all and no one should ever go by distrowatch's top list, it's not counting anything but hits.
The most popular distro is the one you choose to use. What the world uses really shouldn't matter, it's your preference and choice.
But honestly, corporations use Red Hat or a variant of it. Ubuntu is probably the most widely used distribution amongst desktop users/installs, etc, I see it as Mandrake back in 1999, easy for the newbie and technically challenged to install and use

Perhaps I should have put some text with the link. I'm aware how the rankings are compiled, but I still think that it's a good place for newbies to start. If they choose one of the top 7 or 8 distros and start with it, chances are they'll find enough help to continue on.
