Most impressive achievement of GNU GPL yet?

I thought this place needs one poll!
Sure, this isn't complete poll, but will do the thing!

My vote goes definately for Gimp, as it offers all the equipment equally or better as PhotoShop, plus it's very reliable, doesn't take much system recources and is easy to use, has spreaded itself on allmost every OS imaginable and is free as freedom.

PS: If someone wonders why Linux itself isn't on list... everyone would then vote for it, and it wasnt GPL from the beginning.

But GNU GPL is a licensing model. On it's own it hasn't achieved anything. Do you mean FSF? OpenOffice.org has dual licensing too.

I'm confused.
