Monticello Hit with Ransomeware

Monticello (the home of Thomas Jefferson and now a national monument) got hit by ransomware. The computerized stuff, including their telephone system, is not working as I write this.

Security seems always an afterthought.

I do wonder what the catalyst was - non-updated or EOL Windows installations? Are there specifics anywhere?
