how to monitor SSH in windows for nagios?

do i have to download and install SSH in windows before i could monitor it in nagios? i have opened the port for SSH.

if i do have to install it, any recommended links to download? or just any links on the web will do.

Use check_ssh nagios plugin to monitor ssh.

Do you really want ssh service on windows? if no then why you want to install ssh on windows? just for ssh monitoring?

If ssh service not running and not needed, remove ssh service entry from file.

i know i have to use check_ssh.
but the thing is, in the windows server which i'm monitoring, i have to install SSH server right?
because for ftp, smtp etc, i have installed the ftp, smtp (by checking the check box in control panel>programs etc) in order to monitor it in nagios.

yes if you want to monitor ssh then ssh service must be running on pc.

Generally people monitor services because they are running. But it seems like you want to install service because you want to monitor.

I see. so i just download any SSH server on the web will do? I'm kind of afraid if the SSH server i download is not suitable. Because i never use SSH server before.

Ya, because i'm asked to monitor SSH service running on windows. And sadly there isn't any default SSH service on the computer.
