Middle mouse button takes me to strange websites?
Another one of these what does this mean questions. After surfing on my regular forums and websites for a while, every so often I will hit the middle mouse button by accident and it takes me to some strange website that I have never visited. How does that happen?
Slack 10, using Firefox 1.0

I have my middle mouse button set up so if I click a link with it the link opens in a new tab in the background.
It's very nifty

If you're talking about Mozilla Firefox:
I think it's supposed to do the "Back" operation or something. But help file says:
Close tab: Middle click on tab
Paste URL and go: Middle click on Tab

It pastes the clipboard/selected text to the url bar and goes there, it's VERY annoying, kill it with about :config

The mid mouse button pastes as URL the text saved in the clipboard. I find this useful, because often people supply web adresses not formated as links. Instead of copy+paste it is more easy for to select the text and press the scroll button of my mouse which acts also as a mid button.
