What you are missing is that it is Microsoft, so the person who gets the job doesn't have to do it properly, or even workably, provided that by version 3, some several years after the first release, it does something, even if that isn't anything that anyone wanted. Although, obviously, it has got to have good looking icons, although that's not in the job description.

I must be missing something. What's so offensive? Microsoft needs Linux engineers to support hetero-genius environments, migrate customer open-source solutions to Microsoft products, and integrate Microsoft products with Open Source products.

Are you implying that somehow Microsoft developers/engineers are inferior to Linux engineers? I hope that's not the insinuation because that's just ignorant. Products being delivered late and not meeting customer requirements is true for all software development everywhere, that's not somehow exclusive to Microsoft.
