It seems the coldwar between MS and free open-source s/w is heating up again. MS is considering going after Linux [mostly network s/w users] in what they claim to be several patent violations. Essentially they'd like to squeeze users for royalties much like the music industry did not long ago.
This also demonstrates the depth of resources available at MS. It's amazing that they have the time to go through 1000's of lines of code to find similarities.
