Memory Lekage

I have a problem with my server runningRH Linux 7.0, Basically it is a gateway server for my network. When the machine is running after some 2 or 3 hrs. the whole memory is filledup and the machine slows down and hangs. once I resatart the machine It will be fine for another 2 to 3 hrs. Can some one please help me out with this problem.

Any error messages? Run atop with a low interval. This should give you a better idea when memory starts to be consumed w/o release. If you've got an idea what app makes your system barf, you could use LeakTracer, Mpatrol, Memwatch, Dmalloc, Electric Fence, Valgrind, YAMD or any other memory debugger of choice. All application names you can find tru Freshmeat/Google.


Btw RH7.0 is way old. I'm sure upgrading will be beneficial in more than one way.
