So an earthquake and tsunami had nothing to do with it? Is that what you are saying?

Don't expect to take Western ideas and beliefs and use it there. You may be tempted to use your own feelings of how they live and think but unless you lived there and had close interaction with them you can't understand.

And I have American relatives and have been on many forums with Americans and I feel I do understand how they think. The US has a very single minded way of doing thigns to. Your statement was poorly worded and I chipped you on it. Enough said.

You know a bit but your statement doesn't tell us how many you have operated yet you ask others how many they have operated. Lets think about this for minute (small) minute (period of time), the US has Nuclear reactors in boats on land etc etc etc. New Zealand says no nukes in our territory and the US cries fowl. You have only just let NZ boats back in your ports. How's that for a single minded attitude, we do what we want in your territory and if you don't let us we ban you from ours!

You've been telling us nuclear is safe and all the energy that is in it is already available BUT you fail to answer one simple question. Why put it in bombs? I'll ask you another question, if it is safe and your reticence to answer the bomb questions indicates you really do believe what you are saying why is the world scared that North Korea, Iran, and various other rogue states (not to mention terrorists organisations) might get hold of it? Safe does not equal nuclear when the reaction is not controlled. That is my point and when you stop your "the US is a friendly helper and we will give you as many generators as you want BUT you have to ask politely first" train of thought you might be able to mount a convincing argument.

Just because you don't see your family being killed slowly doesn't mean it is OK. There have been many studies that prove those billions of tons of fossil fuel also release radioactive material.

I am an Automotive Technician by trade and a Teacher by profession, I know the many flaws in fossil fuels and the effects on health at a personal level. I was on the pension because of it. Please don't think for one minute you know what it is like to live how I do and please don't compare radiation from a nuclear device to radition from burning fossil fuels. I've dealt with both, one (fossil fuels) nearly killed me the other (nuclear) saved my life BUT I stand by my earlier statement when I said nuclear makes us lazy.

I need to point out (^my point^) my Grandfather was a Navy man for 20 years (even tho I feel follow the leader is a lame game) to stereotype him, as anyone, is sad and wrong...

About Navy, working close to nuclear reactor is not that great. The problem is that radioactive dust also that might travel everywhere. You'd better not go beyond the controlling gates with that in your pocket or bring some at home.

Anyhow with a regular device you might control it anytime.

(just thought of something) if we cared enough about the birds wind turbines kill then stop all air traffic
