Says you. I got slightly buzzed once (because I forgot that you shouldn't drink on an emtpy stomach), but I've never been drunk. I agree with you.

Come to think of it, I suppose I should share a story. When I was a kid in maybe 2nd grade, my dad gave me whole can of beer. Yes, he does careless things sometimes. Not knowing what it was, I drank it all. Everything started spinning around and my mom was panicking and scolding my dad severely. I fell asleep or passed out and when I woke up I was ok. This may have influenced my future decision to avoid alcohol as much as possible. I never drink more than a mouthful of wine (only on special occasions), and never touch hard liquor.

Sorry to hear it--giving a kid a whole case of beer isn't careless, it's insane (even if it apparently only knocked you out.) The most careless thing I ever saw my dad do was use gasoline to stoke a campfire (a great way to accidentally set yourself on fire). He once let me taste beer, but only a sip. (I didn't like it, and still don't.)

Strangely enough, I agree with the sentiment of your quote (with reservations). But being a loser is not a proper consideration for being jailed and convicted of a felony offense. Abusing drugs to get high, all drugs **including alcohol**, is stupid. But, people do stupid things and we don't even consider putting them in jail for it. What's worse than doing drugs, though, is giving armed thugs a monopoly in the manufacture, sales, and distribution of drugs. It costs around $45,000 per year for every person we put in prison. It's downright insane to spend that much money to feed, clothe, house, and give medical attention to someone whose only crime is getting high on a drug that's different from the one you use.

Oh, I'm sorry, I misread it. My mistake. Still, you don't give a substantial amount of liquor to a child--it's ridiculous.

No disagreement here. Throwing pot smokers in jail is a waste of time, money, resources, etc.; I believe the agreement with this (and more generally that the drug war doesn't work) is increasingly widespread. Getting to the point where you can arguably say "Everyone knows that." I'm not sure how often we even do this anymore.

I would think any superiority trip can seem quite intoxicating...auuü... ...waited all day at work to say that (haha) and to enjoy what is now my "weekend", spark. Think I will watch A Scanner Darkly (relevant here even tho the threads not called: Should Hollywood be the only place aloud to rape thought?)

I have a fast metabolism maybe why I've never liked alcohol, luckily? Besides shouldn't the age 21 be about so much more? Thanks to the animal, $y$tem$ here for the average folks its not!

What's alcohol consumption like with a fast metabolism?

@tangle+

Life is too short either way... and not much shorter (or same or reversed) if moderately enjoining only the "safest" chaos (we all do.) Better to have than not, so I say the opposite but to each their own. I stick with pot only (recreationally) and mostly only every other weekend or so (altho if I am sick I will smoke more not that I ever get sick (SK8) +coffee every day n' Ibuprofen a few times a month).

Last edited by jamison20000e; 02-18-2013 at 03:16 PM. Reason: add recreationally

Stolen off Usenet way back in the mid '90s:
Time is a waste of Life.
Life is a waste of Time.
Let's all get wasted,
and have the time of our lives.
I'll admit to being a Meth-injecting Dope Fiend for a number of years. Abusing myself and others every which way.

5 years in Prison teaches you a lot.

I managed to clean up from '93 to '04 and then relapsed for 2 years. And clean again...

These days, I am "ok" with a little recreation smoking of some "nuggets". At least nobody dies if I do smoke and I don't think it'll lead me back to Prison.

These days, I struggle with tobacco. Quitting Meth was cake compared to that.

Thumbs up

Luckily I grew up terrified of hardcore (addictive) drugs (maybe because I was such an uncontrollable pothead back in the day +have family with addiction problems) you can't die from weed but you can still wreck your life with it...

  • To quit smoking tomacco get nn-stop severe chronic asthma

Peace, luck and good job to you.
