Manual BIOS setup help!

I love linux, but I have a friend who is a newbie. He has an old 386SX Jetta Jetbook laptop. It has a Windoze folder, but it will only run from an emergency diskette because it it was taken off the manual bios. I need a program to tell me the specific info like cylinders/heads/etc. so I can put the hdd back in the bios. Thnx 4 the help & btw, it has like 2mb of ram. lol, i think it either didn't boot the windows on the hdd or it had 3.1.

Thanks for all of the help.

didn't werk... it sat dere 4 ever doin nuttin wen I put the linux diskette in. it froze right after post. I have a dos diskette that werks, but it has no utils that say cylinders/heads/secters/etc. it just sez my 107 mb. A dos program would du the trik.

I think it's called POST n e waze.

Linux (as I read) wouldn't run with less than 4mb RAM. I had a 486 that once wouldn't boot from a Linux floppy because of this. So yeah, a DOS util is the way. Otherwise, you could remove the HDD from the laptop and temporarily place it in another comp.
