LQ Social Groups and other extras

For the most part to me the social groups seem stagnant? does nobody yearn for a place to post completely useless conversational messages in a realm outside of the forums? I'm still at a loss as to another use for the social groups other than a potential to organize an event. The blog feature is also interesting.

How long have these features been here? does nobody care? Me personally, I would rather use the features here than facebook or myspace.

Regardless,
THANKYOU LQ for providing these for free.

They were just integrated a few weeks ago. I think most don't even realize they're there yet. I was surprised when I saw them and was the first to create some groups.

I'm a member of another forum that has a chatbox on the page, once you've logged in. Any chance of something like that here?
