looking to buy a laptop,
 

I am looking for a wireless lap top, and so I am doing research before I buy. Is 1 GB good? gigabyte of RAM I want to be able to play my games along with work stuff, while online. Can some one help me out?, I need to know what is good for a laptop.

1 GB of what?

Depends on what purpose you want to utilize your laptop but mostly 1GB of RAM and a PIV processor > 2GHz should be fast enough for general purposes

The most important thing on my laptop list is that is has integrated nvidia graphics.

I've used Linux on a wide range of laptops with little trouble. Sometimes you may have to install graphics drivers and/or patch the kernel for better touch pad support, but these are minor issues.

1GB of RAM with a good processor should meet the needs of most users but that's one of those things that are up to the user's specific needs. IMHO more RAM is always a good thing.

Hey, man... if you're looking for a laptop to run linux on, I suggest you look through system76.com and shafetech.com. They ship laptop preinstalled with ubuntu, so they're guaranteed to work with linux.

I don't think you will have any trouble using linux with any laptops out there. 1GB is enough.
The processor:
I would buy an AMD Turion 64 X2 TL-60 (2GHz) or Intel Core2 Duo processor. I know about AMD because that is what I have. It is powerful and runs Vista with no problem. Low wattage and high performance.
