Looking for Linux Compatible ISPs in South Jersey
I'm looking to recommend a Linux compatible internet service provider (dial-up) in the South Jersey area (across the bridge from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA)...
Any recomendations??? |
I've used access4less.net which has been since been bought out by Earthlink & also Netzero. However there is another one called warp connect ($5.95) http://www.ionramp.net/
Netzero & access4less at the time that I used them only supported windows or mac. but they all still worked with linux, |
Unless you mean "ISPs that give technical support for Linux" then just about any ISP (other than AOL ;) ) should run fine with Linux: Anything capable of running ppp and using a modem should be able to use a typical ISP. . .
|
Some use some sort of proprietary scripting or apps and/or are difficult to set up with anything other than Windoze... Obviously, AOL is the biggest culprit there, but there are others...
I just need to know what's available in Southern Jersey (Camden County Area) so that the EX can get internet... Once I get her set up, she'll be less of a pain... |
I didn't use the software that was available with those ISP's. I simply used the setup that came linux (i.e. KPP).
However to ease your mind, here is one that google turned up. http://www.dialup4less.com/ And yes they have Camden numbers as well as others for NJ. Oh and it supports linux. |
thanks,
That looks like a good one... Nice service wide service area and Linux support... I'll pass that one on to the EX... |
Moved: Not a Linux technical question, belongs in General.
