Looking for a chess program.

Anyone knows of a chess program to play between two humans and the keyboard can be used to make the moves? It has not to have the engine, only the interface. Also, ideally it would run under Linux.

I know them both (one is the engine alone). Any other choice?

I stopped playing chess when I discovered contract bridge, but you might find this link useful; it's less than a year old: http://www.chess.com/blog/SamCopelan...apps-for-chess

I never could beat Sargon-II (consistently), although I tried.

Funny you should mention contract bridge. My parents are seriously into it, and have been all my life. (One of their treasured wedding gifts was a set of plastic Kem playing cards ... and one of their gifts to us was another set.) They're seriously-competitive during the game but, fortunately, not obnoxiously-competitive before or after it.
