look what I found a report on linuxquestions.org
looks like some fan of this web site has written a report
http://linuxquestions.org.w3snoop.com/ this part is almost the most outlandish of the whole thing "The website linuxquestions.org is expected to be earning an estimated $2,607,806 USD on a daily basis " WHAT? WHERE? HOW? I guess w3snoop.com is not the place to go for creatable information |
I'd question whether it's ethical to link to a site like that and help it generate ad revenue. Here's the "report":

Wish I owned LQ.
|
$951,849,148 / 5,000,000 total posts = $190.37 per post
so that means the site owes me $656,775.91 for my 3,450 posts. |

While you're talking to Jeremy, rounding num posts down and rounding down to $190/post => $3,040,000 for me :) :)
Jeremy can keep the rest ;) |

On the LQ main page I see around 3000 active users at any one time. That's plenty but certainly cannot add up to 600 million per day. You would need around 7000 new active users every second to get that per day. |
Honestly, how would that website even know?
|
Well, this is the closest thing that Linux has to an official help-and-support website...
But seriously, how do they come up with those numbers? Put a monkey in front of nano and use grep to filter out the non-numeric characters? :) But I bet that even if that number is remotely accurate that it forgets about the costs of running such a huge and successful website. |
