I'm the only linux user here, the rest of the family are dedicated windows users, except one, probably the most sensible - she just stays clear of computers
Distribution: Kubuntu, Ubuntu server, SuSE 11, Knoppix, Puppy, Myth. Oh alright then, all of them

All kids using Suse at moment - ages 2, 5, 7 and 12.
The concept of the kid in Jurassic Park recognising a *nix box is not far from the truth here, although they much prefer the GUI and are quite adept at finding their way around the menues.
Our 2 year old is the terrorist and has made several attempts to sabotage the wife's works laptop which is the only non-Linux machine in the house.
All four kid's attempts on the Linux boxes have failed to bring down any systems and they spend far too many hours playing, which deprives me of my own playtime
all my immediate family ( wife & kids ) dual boot linux and windows except our firewall of course. Mostly Mandrake 10.0 and windows 98 although my 11 yr old son has his own ( old ) system running Mandrake 7, windows 95, Red Hat 7
I have a system d/b Xandros 3 & Windows 98 but I hardly use Xandros so I may go back to Mandrake on that one.
Freesbie is kinda cool to use too ( live CD of modified stripped down for racing FreeBSD )
My family uses windows and could care less about Linux, however, I am teaching my 4yr old well... He has already inherited my Slackware 8.1 Laptop and is eyeing my DT as well.
Can't even imagine what he will be using at my age...

What's holding your mom back from Firefox, exactly? I've generally found it better to wait until people encounter a problem with IE before I suggest Firefox. People tend to have an "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality when it comes to computers.
the only linux i got and try out are redhat and ubuntu , never really try to convert my family , i don't want them to suffer , cause my son only like to play games , recently addicted to internet games with opera in win98 , wife like to read emails and crack up webpages from those free web hosting sites in win98 , especially fond of a kind of animations on web pages , i donno what is that , never ask her , i can't be bother anyway ....
I'm only 14, and most of my family coulnn't care less about Linux, except my Kid brother, because he likes tuxracer and the other games on it. Hop that can change soon though. Have to try to convert everybody from the windows to tux.
