An old version of Slackware is probably what you are looking for, but what do you want such an old kernel for? Even the 2.4 kernel (although I use it myself for stability) is starting to get dated by the new 2.6.

old distro

I have suse 9 on my other laptop.
This for my old laptop.
I need to do excercises from "gery nutt" book kernel projects for linux.

The cd came with the book mandrake 7.2 is currupted.
I cant find suse 6.3 kernel 2.2.14
redhot 6.2 didnt work.
So now I will look for slake ware.

I tried compling kernel 2.2.12 on my redhat 9 computer but it gives me error.

So.
I think getting new distro is the option I am left with.

www.slackware.com. A pre 9.0 should be perfect.
