There are those people, like myself, that spend a great deal of time on computers everyday. They do it not just because it's their job, but because it is their passion.

The "Linux Culture" refers to all the good people in these forums and in the chat rooms that seek to help people getting started using this great operating system. They are the army in a war. A war against a company that seeks not only to tell us "where to go today" but seeks to dumb us down as well.

Its like the stuff in yoghurt. Some yoghurt uses right-spinning culture bacteria, other yoghurt uses left-spinning ones. They're both benign AFAIK. As always with nature, there'll be a non-spinning variety (cuz of the BSOD's I guess).
That'll be the MICROS~1 culture.

I think that there are two sub divisions of both these cultures.. and also the mac culture.

Linux: friendly and helpful, (majority) aloof (minor-minority)
Microsoft: helpful completly lost and idiots
Mac: no clue about computers and very very aloof.

my two scents
(spring showers and peach)

Yeah...there is a Windows culture.

And...it's bigger than the Linux culture.

Both cultures are helpful in my opinion.

  • Windows Culture- This consists mostly of people who have computer but no idea on how to use them. I know a windows user who thought the icons on her desktop were decoration for what programs she had on her computer
  • Mac Culture- This consists of people who thought windows was too hard and wanted something less complicated. They frequently are on tv saying how much easier macs are compared to windows and also find the time to have commercials for apple's itunes that consists of normal people singing songs for 30 seconds.
  • Linux Culture- This consists of the people who got fed up with everything else or just wanted something harder and more challenging then macs or windows. These people are very affectionate of their computers and are very loyal to thier operating system. They are the only members of a culture that wears shirts sporting tux or other linux related items. Linux users tend to be more computer literate then the general population.
