Leaving Linux


Hi every1 ive had many probs with linux since i installed it so im taking my laptop back 2 windows 2000 and im goin to get a new harddrive so i can put it in that and start doing some testing. i couldnt get drivers my IBM thinkpad i tried everything but nothing linux is a great operating system and im not giving up yet im just moving it 2 my PC where i can test it properly i will post again when im installing but for now GOOD BYE linux.

im getting the harddrive at xmas so it will be the new year when i post again.


GOOD LUCK 2 every1 with linux.



Thank you all for ur help ive got some good knowlage about linux now and i wont be a newbie next time..........

Its not just the file system thats different and needs getting use 2 its the files aswell. any1 taking up the challenage will need this site like i did.

But i will return to your screens in the new year

I would have to say "goodbye's" are of general discussion nature and are more suitable in General since your not technically asking a Linux related question.

too bad it did nit work out thats understandable, i too have an IBM Thinkpad, its the T20.

i upgraded it windows 2000 and all the drivers were wrong the res was only 800x600 and 16colours so i upgraded the drivers from the IBM site.

BUT i did not have any problems running mandrake linux and gentoo 1.2 on my notebook, the display colours and res was fine.

sorry that you had difficultys though.
