K12LTSP help...

I’m trying to save to a floppy so I can boot my terminal (client). Floppy access says it can’t initialize the floppy server. I’ve turned off the firewall. That doesn’t seem to make a difference. Anyone have and thoughts? ?

For floppy access K12LTSP uses MToolsFM 1.9-3. I'm not sure what its purpose is. When I try to access or save info to a floppy it states: Can't connect to floppyd server on localhost, port 5703.

The connection is refused and cannot initialize A

Can you read from the floppy drive? Have you tried going in DOS and cd a: and try reading a floppy?

The way I solved the problem was this:
Modify /etc/dhcpd.conf
I added this section to this file
}
host ws253 {
hardware ethernet 00:A02:1C:82:E1;
fixed-address 192.168.0.253;
filename "/lts/vmlinuz-2.4.24-ltsp-4";
option option-128 e4:45:74:68:00:00;
# option option-129 "NIC=rtl8139"; <-------This part is commented out in order to work
}
Since the system identified the first terminal that I connected to the server as 192.168.0.253, I changed the address on fixed-address to match, also I had to add the MAC address to the hardware ethernet, then typed the command
service dhcpd restart

Restarted the terminal and voila the floppy works on the terminal.

Hope this is usefull for you
