Just a question about guild wars....

WHY IN HELL DO THEY HATE LINUX??? LINUX IS MUCH MORE STABLE THAN WINDOWS! SO WHY USE WINDOWS? COZ IT'S POPULAR? NO!!!! BECAUSE OF THE GAMES... AND THAT PREVENTS PEOPLE FORM CHANGING TO LINUX!!!! I AM FED UP WITH STUPID CEDEGA! WHY HIDE FORM ITS SHADOWS? FORCE THE GAME MANUFACTURERS TO RELEASE LINUX VERSIONS OF THEIR GAME!!! I can't force NCSOFT or ARENANET to make a linux client... Why? One is that I am alone here... Second is that THEY ARE FRICKING STUBBORN TO MAKE ONE!!! Why am I writing in all capital letters? Coz I need to release my anger to them... Sorry if I had to do this or else I am gonna be nuts... Anyway, for those who want to get out of wine or cedega, please push the game developers to make a linux client. That's all and thank you...

Games don't need a particularly good operating system to run. Similar to having super quality sound is not entirely necessary to enjoy music, or a hd-tv to enjoy views.

Also stablility is not really the chief reason for switching to linux. The philosophy of open source, and revolution and all thats stuff is driving force of it popularity.

If San Andreas is just as big, and F.E.A.R still has just the same motion blur, theres no compelling reason for users or developers to switch away from the more popular platform.

I don't think you're really appreciating linux or windows, or operating systems as a whole here. Even windows is better than no OS at all. In fact windows xp is quite usable. It has a fast, fairly intuitive gui. It does'nt crash every 10 minutes anymore. And besides the whole popularity thing, directx is valuable asset to game developers. Windows is by no means a push over.

Game priority
1.playability
2.performance
3.graphics
...
...
1000. cross-platform

They don't exist to serve your personal wishes, they are there to make money. If it was worth their while and profitable to spend the effort porting the games to Linux, they'd do it.

i suspect that a single game project is an industry in itself , its really about everything(??) ...

i see no "hopes" in linux games on the level of windows games ...

//but i could be wrong ...

[EDIT ::] btw ... why did you use the word "guild" in your thread title ??
