just installed mandrake linux today(dual boot). Internet working fine in linux but i cannot connect to the internet in windows me like i normally can. Im using a cable modem. Please help. Thx.
Well that would be a problem with Windows then. Next time put Windows questions in the General forum, not the Linux Newbie forum. Don't post again, a moderator will be around to move it accordingly.
What have you done in Windows thus far? Have you changed anything recently besides installing Linux? Installing Linux usually won't make you lose your connection when dual booting with Windows, you might be best off to post your question in a Windows forum instead of a Linux related site.
So... you have a cable modem... do you have a Router also?
How is your IP set? DHCP? static? Is it set correctly?
What version of Winders are ya running?
When you go to Device Manager does it display an error (yellow !) on the network card?
